The Eureka Company was founded in 1909 by Fred Wardell of Detroit, Michigan. A few short years later in 1913 Eureka made six different vacuum models with specially designed attachments. By 1919 Eureka was at a production capacity of 2000 vacuums per day. In 1927 Eureka was credited with selling 33% of all vacuum cleaners in the USA. In 1974 Eureka was purchased by AB Electrolux of Sweden and changed it's name to The Eureka Company. Shortly thereafter the company offers the Electrolux brand floor care products.
Today the company concentrates exclusively on manufacturing and distributing more that 130 different models of vacuum cleaners and other home and commercial cleaning products.
The company offers four brands of cleaning systems which include Eureka, Electrolux, Sanitaire, and Beam.
