Blueair 450E SMOKESTOP Air Purifier is the system for people living with allergies, asthma, or other respiratory conditions, or for anyone who wants cleaner, more breathable air. Blueair's patented three-stage HEPASilent technology, captures 99.97% of the tiniest 0.1 micron particles, including allergy-provoking pollen grains, as well as dust mite, mold spore and pet dander particles. The SMOKESTOP Carbon Filter removes smoke and other gaseous odors. Carbon filter contains 0.2 lbs of coconut shell activated carbon impregnated with a 70/30 blend of Potassium Hydroxide (KOH) and Potassium Iodide (KI) for smoke and gas removal.

How HEPASilent Works:

1. Air is drawn into the Blueair system via its ultra-quiet fan.
2. Airborne particles pass through an ion chamber and are electrically charged. This causes them to adhere effortlessly to Blueair's exclusive polypropylene filters.
3. Charged particles are removed in the 3-stage Progressive Filter. Stage 1 captures larger particles like pollen and dust. Stages 2 and 3 filter the smallest particles like cigarette smoke and exhaust. Together, the encapsulated ion chamber and 3-stage Filtration Process combine to create Blueair's patented HEPASilent technology - delivering maximum airflow with minimum noise.

How it works:

The Blueair 450E SMOKESTOP Air Purifier intake air through the back of the unit. The air is passed through the pre-filter where large particles are trapped, then through the electrostatic HEPA-type filter where the small particles are trapped, and then through the ionization chamber where the air mixes with negative ions. Negative ions are then released with the clean air through the top of the unit. The ions collide with the particles in the room air and the particles become charged. Then when the air cycles back through the unit, the charged particles cling to the electrostatic filter media. The combined filtration technologies allow the Blueair Air Purifiers to achieve 99.97% filtration efficiency. See additional image.
